SuperConcepts Adelaide office was officially opened today by the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment the Hon David Ridgway MLC.
Minister Ridgway was joined by staff and dignitaries from SuperConcepts as well as parent company AMP, plus the SMSF Association.
“SuperConcepts’ decision to expand its Adelaide workforce is a great win for our state and a vote of confidence in our financial and business services sector,” said Minister Ridgway.
“Together we are helping create opportunities to develop the next generation of SMSF and asset management industry experts in Adelaide.
“These opportunities align with the South Australian Government’s policy in supporting the growth of South Australia’s local funds management industry,” said Minister Ridgway.
SuperConcepts CEO Lara Bourguignon thanked the SA Government for its ongoing support.
“On behalf of SuperConcepts and AMP, I’d like to thank Minister Ridgway and the SA Government for their ongoing support and collaboration on our shared goal of innovation and supporting business,” said Ms Bourguignon.
“We chose to settle the bulk of our SMSF operations staff here in Adelaide in large part due to the competitive conditions that the SA Government offers.
“It is fantastic to see a state government and a Minister such as Minister Ridgway who understands the competitive nature of business, and the requirements of supporting and sustaining employment for ongoing success.
“In the process, Adelaide has emerged as an SMSF super hub, with a large portion of Australia’s SMSF knowledge base right here in this office.
“SuperConcepts invested in Adelaide with help from the SA Government and with their gracious help have expanded into these lovely new premises.
“More than this contemporary, inviting office space, we have grown staffing levels and continue to invest in delivering outstanding outcomes to the clients we serve”,” said Ms Bourguignon.
“The Business Plan that we devised with the Department of Trade, Tourism and Investment has seen SuperConcepts exceed our performance tracking with 113 full time staff today,” said Ms Bourguignon.
“These indicators put us well on track for meeting the requirements to employ a projected 140 FTE by 2021,” said Ms Bourguignon.
SuperConcepts took the opportunity to also announce a new internship program in collaboration with the University of Adelaide to nurture the future talent pool of SMSF experts.
“We greatly value the opportunities South Australia offers our business, and want to ensure we support the South Australian community as much as we can, both through our continuing investments, and employment and development opportunities,” said Ms Bourguignon.
“I’m delighted to announce a new intern program we’ve established with the University of Adelaide.
“Through our new partnership with the University we’ll be offering two accounting students a 10-week internship with SuperConcepts.
“This is a great opportunity for students who are nearing the completion of their degree to learn more about SMSFs and the administration of SMSFs.
“The SMSF sector is a huge and growing market in Australia and presents and excellent career opportunity for a university student wanting hands on experience.
“It’s also an opportunity for SuperConcepts to promote SMSF administration as a potential career path for accounting graduates in this state.
“We hope to welcome our first intake of interns over the coming months. We’ve no doubt these bright young minds will make strong contribution to our business, and help shape the future of the SMSF industry, which remains central to AMP’s long-term future,” says Ms Bourguignon.
